The Buck O'Neil Monument, sponsored by the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, MO, was designed and built by SI Memorials.  The monument is located in Forest Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri near O'Neil's gravesite.

SI Launches Funeral Planning Website for Consumers

Visitors can find a checklist outlining what should be done after death, a glossary of terms, information and links related to grief, celebration of life stories and a search of funeral homes that are partners with SI.  The FAQ section talks about funeral services for cremation families, incorporating religion into a service and personalization.  Current average funeral costs are also discussed.

Piatt Street Plane Crash Memorial Dedication

7/14/07

Forty-two years after a military tanker full of fuel crashed into a North Wichita neighborhood a memorial in honor of the 30 victims was dedicated.  SI Memorials designed and built the memorial which is engraved with the names of all the victims and with details of the crash.  The memorial sits in Piatt Memorial Park at 20th & Piatt in Wichita.

Arkansas Dedicates Veterans Memorial Built by Suhor Industries

On June 25, 2007, the 57th anniversary of the beginning of the Korean War, the new Arkansas Korean War Veterans' Memorial was dedicated in Little Rock's MacArthur Park.  The statewide memorial, designed and constructed by three division of Suhor Industries (SI), honors the services of all of the Arkansas War Veterans and is designed to be a lasting reminder of the sacrifices of veterans of what is often called the "Forgotten War".

SI Receives KIP Award

SI received an honorable mention in the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association's 2006 Keeping It Personal Awards, recognizing the best in personalization in the cemetery, funeral service and cremation profession.  SI and two local funeral homes in Cameron Parish, LA worked to re-inter almost 300 recovered bodies and to restore cemeteries breached after Hurricane Rita.  The year-long efforts ended with a dedication ceremony to honor the families of those affected by the storm and those involved in the recovery process.

Hurricane Rita Monument Dedicated - Cameron Parish, LA

10/21/06

On September 23-24, 2005 Hurricane Rita hit Cameron Parish, Louisiana with 130 mph winds and a 20 foot wall of water.  While miraculously none of the 10,000 area residents were killed by the storm, 38 of the parish's 40 cemeteries were breached and 340 caskets and remains torn from their graves, some scattered as far as 30 miles away.  After a year long effort to restore the cemeteries, a monument was dedicated to those affected by the storm and those who helped in the recovery and re-interment efforts.

SI Assists in Re-Interment Project in the Aftermath of Hurricane Rita

When Hurricane Rita hit Cameron Parish in September 2005, 38 of the parish's 40 cemeteries were breached by floodwaters, leaving caskets scattered in tree tops, marshes, pastures and canals.  SI, along with two local funeral homes, FEMA, the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team (D-MORT) and hundreds of volunteers helped retrieve and rebury nearly 300.

SI Helps Build Nation's Newest Veterans Cemetery

In June 2005, SI Construction Services began a lawn crypt installation project at the nation's newest veterans cemetery, Georgia National.  By the end of the project, SI had installed over 17,000 double depth lawn crypts, the largest-ever lawn crypt installation.  The cemetery was dedicated in June 2006.
